RoHs Government Directive Concerning Marking Inks

The RoHs directive requires producers of electrical and electronic equipment to eliminate the use of six environmentally-sensitive substances: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium; and the use of PBB and PBDE flame retardants, in electrical and electronic products sold in the European Union beginning July 1, 2006.

Important Information Regarding Resale of MARCO Brand Marking Inks

According to law, a caution label must be affixed to every container of ink sold. If you transfer any ink from one container to another and re-label it, do not forget to use a caution label similar to the one on the original container.

  • Inks with flash points between 73 and 149 degrees Fahrenheit are classified as hazardous by ground in 5 gallon or larger containers.
  • Inks with flash points under 73 degrees Fahrenheit are classified as hazardous by ground in quart or larger containers
  • Inks with flash points of 149 degrees Fahrenheit and under are classified as hazardous by air no matter the size of the container.
